Abstract The present study was conducted with the aim of comparing social-emotional competence in student with and without specific learning disabilities. The present study was conducted with the aim of comparing social-emotional competence and sense of coherence in student with and without specific learning disabilities. The research method was causal-comparative. The statistical population of this research was students was female students of the first secondary school with and without special learning disabilities in the city of Shiraz, 41 students with special learning disabilities and 41 students without special learning disabilities in a targeted and peer-to-peer way (based on educational level,socio-economic status) were selected as the sample of this research. social-emotional competence questionnaries of zhou and jessie ee (2012) were used to collect data. Data analysis was done using the statistical analysis method of univariate variance analysis and multivariate variance analysis. The results of statistical analysis showed that there is a significant difference between two groups of students with and without special learning disabilities in the social-emotional competence variable and its subscales (P<0.01). According to the results of the present research, it is suggested to teach skills related to decision making, self-management, emotion regulation strategies, cooperation and maintaining the efficiency of peer relationships.
